About The Learning Press
We are a dynamic online newsroom covering the latest in education stories and trends.
We aim to engage and inspire you, to provoke and infuriate you. We may even entertain you.
The Learning Press covers the latest education stories from across Australia and the world featuring a demographic ranging from the cradle to the grave.
Our purely online status gives us the freedom to publish education news, features, video, audio and commentary on the web and through facebook, Twitter and Instagram - as quickly as the brave new world demands.
And with no subscription costs and no affiliations, we promise to deliver quality content that is always free and independent.
Editor Kate Jackson has worked as an education specialist for more than 20 years on newspapers and magazines including The Australian and The Sydney Morning Herald.
As a mum to three school-age children, an education writer, author and teacher she brings an appreciation of all sides of the education conversation to The Learning Press.
She says: “The Learning Press grew out of a realisation that there was no single quality source of news and features for people interested in education.
“There were plenty of websites for special interest groups and newspapers with sections on aspects of learning.
"But for people looking at the whole picture, there was no way to get the latest stories in a format that was all-encompassing.
“At the heart of The Learning Press is quality unbiased journalism and we’re very proud of our lack of affiliation to any corporation or political group.
“But we also aim to entertain and engage our readers through meaty interviews, cartoons with bite, enticing competitions, cool trivia and the chance to be guest columnist on a respected national publication.
“We believe that meaningful learning - like great journalism - is all about the quality of the debate.
“So here it is, The Learning Press. We’d love to hear from you…”
